AdMaven publisher earnings for beginners?

Hey everyone! I'm completely new to AdMaven and just trying to get started with monetizing my site.

I've gone through the basic setup steps for push notifications, but I'm a bit overwhelmed and not sure if I'm even seeing test ads correctly or how to really optimize for publisher earnings.

I keep seeing something like this in my console, which makes me wonder if I'm missing something fundamental:
