cPanel errors after updates?

hey everyone, saw that topic about service management issues and phantom errors. it got me thinking...
i'm really new to this, like, totally green. what's the simplest way to check cPanel error logs right after an update finishs? i mean, before things go completely wrong.
just need some super direct, step-by-step guidance for a noob like me.
help a brother out please...
