How does IP geo-location actually work for beginners?
Hey everyone, I'm pretty new to all this networking stuff and trying to wrap my head around IP resolution.
Specifically, I'm really curious about how IP geo-location works on a fundamental level. What's actually happening behind the scenes when an IP address gets mapped to a physical location?

Fundamentally, IP geo-location works by cross-referencing an IP address against vast, continuously updated IP address databases. These databases, built from regional internet registry data and network topology analysis, map specific IP ranges to geographical coordinates, giving you an approximate physical location.
