My Geolocation API thinks users are in Narnia, help?

Hey everyone, just launched a new feature on our SaaS that really hinges on knowing where our users actually are for some content personalization, you know, making things relevant. The problem is, our current Geolocation API seems to have a bit of an identity crisis. It's constantly misplacing users across continents, genuinely believing that someone browsing from downtown Chicago is actually vacationing in Antarctica, or sometimes, for reasons unknown, Narnia. This geographical confusion is completely messing with our content personalization efforts and, understandably, leading to some very confused (and probably quite cold) users who are seeing content completely irrelevant to their actual location. I'm tearing my hair out trying to figure out why our IP detection is so off. Does anyone have robust IP detection solutions or tips to drastically improve Geolocation API accuracy without completely breaking the bank?
