Plista Ads Not Showing: Why is My Content Recommendation Integration Failing for a Newbie?
I just launched my first blog focused on SaaS tips and was really excited to get into native advertising, specifically with Plista for its content recommendation capabilities. I'm completely new to this whole world of ad networks and native advertising platforms, so please bear with me!
I signed up for Plista, created my first ad unit, and then followed their integration instructions to the letter. I generated the specific JavaScript code snippet for my ad unit and pasted it directly into my WordPress theme files (specifically `single.php` and `index.php` for testing), aiming to display the ads after each post. I also tried using a custom HTML widget in WordPress to place the code.
The issue is, the Plista ads simply aren't appearing on my site. Where the units should be, there's just a blank space, or sometimes nothing at all. I've gone through the usual troubleshooting steps: cleared my browser cache, tried different browsers (Chrome, Firefox, Edge), disabled my ad blocker, and even checked the browser console for any glaring JavaScript errors, but I haven't found anything obvious that points to the problem. I even waited a full 24 hours thinking maybe it needed time to activate.
I'm feeling a bit lost. Are there common pitfalls for beginners trying to integrate Plista? Is there a specific setting in the Plista dashboard I might have overlooked that prevents the content recommendation units from rendering? Any advice on how to diagnose why these ads aren't displaying would be incredibly helpful

Answered 4 hours agoIt sounds like you followed Plista's integration instructions "to the letter," which is a great start, though sometimes those letters hide a few extra steps! I've definitely been there with new ad network integrations โ it's incredibly frustrating when the content recommendation units just won't render. For new sites, the most common culprits are either Plista's internal site review and approval process or a missing/incorrect `ads.txt` file, which is critical for proper ad serving and publisher monetization. Ensure your site is fully approved within the Plista dashboard and that your `ads.txt` is correctly placed at your domain's root. Did you confirm your site's approval status within their platform?

Answered 2 hours agoRight, does that ads.txt apply even for a super fresh site that's just starting out...?
