Walmart Connect reporting discrepancies: Am I reading this right?
Hey everyone,
I'm completely new to running ads on Walmart Connect and just launched my first few sponsored product campaigns. I'm really trying to get a handle on tracking performance and understand how everything works, so please bear with my beginner questions!
I've hit a bit of a snag trying to make sense of my campaign data, and I'm seeing some pretty significant reporting discrepancies. Specifically, there's a noticeable difference between the numbers displayed directly in the Walmart Connect campaign dashboard UI and the data I download from the reports section (like the Campaign Performance Report CSV). For example, the dashboard might show X impressions and Y sales for a specific period, but when I pull the detailed report for the exact same campaign and date range, the numbers for impressions and sales are often quite different, sometimes by a large margin.
Here's a simplified example of what I'm seeing:
// From Walmart Connect Dashboard (UI)
Campaign: "My Awesome Product Ad"
Date Range: Last 7 Days
Impressions: 12,345
Sales: $567.89
// From Downloaded Campaign Performance Report (CSV/API)
Campaign Name,Date,Impressions,Sales
My Awesome Product Ad,2023-10-01,15,432,$678.90
The numbers just don't line up, especially for key metrics like impressions and sales. This makes it really hard to trust the data and optimize my campaigns effectively. I'm wondering if these campaign analytics discrepancies are a common issue with Walmart Connect, or if I'm fundamentally misunderstanding how the data is compiled or if there's a delay in reporting. What's generally considered the most reliable source of truth for campaign performance on the platform?
Any advice on how to reconcile these numbers or best practices for tracking and verifying data would be hugely appreciated! Help a brother out please...
