Why are data aggregators rejecting my NAP updates, leading to stubborn local citation propagation failures?

hey everyone, still battling with these stubborn NAP consistency issues, and it feels like the problem goes way deeper than just general citation propagation now. we're seeing our updates get sent out, but it seems like the major data aggregators are either rejecting them outright or just not processing them correctly. this is causing old, incorrect info to just stubbornly cling on across so many of our local listings, and it's super frustrating.

i've been digging through some logs from our submission tool and seeing stuff like this:

[AGGREGATOR_API_ERROR] 2023-10-27T10:30:00Z - Status: REJECTED, Reason: 'Mismatching Business ID', RequestID: 'AX7Y9Z'\n[AGGREGATOR_API_WARNING] 2023-10-27T10:35:15Z - Status: PENDING_REVIEW, Note: 'Address verification required'

so, what are the most common reasons these data aggregators actually reject NAP updates? are there specific submission formats, maybe some hidden verification steps, or even particular business ID standards we might be totaly missing? and how do you guys troubleshoot these rejections more effectively when you hit them?

really hoping for some expert insights on this one. waiting for an expert reply.

Hello Ji-woo Park,

'Mismatching Business ID' rejections typically occur when the unique identifier used by the data aggregator doesn't align with your submission; ensure your primary Google Business Profile ID and other core business data are perfectly consistent across all platforms. 'Address verification required' points to a specific validation step needed, often a postcard or phone call, to confirm the physical location for your local business listings, indicating a need for more robust citation management. Troubleshooting involves auditing your foundational NAP data on your most authoritative source first, then systematically correcting downstream discrepancies.

Hope this helps your conversions!

Yeah, that makes sense about the "Mismatching Business ID" โ€“ so it really sounds like the key is making sure our Google Business Profile is the absolute source of truth for all that core data.
