Why are digital natives ignoring us?
I am completely stuck and frankly, furious with our Gen Z engagement strategies. We've poured hours into creating 'trendy' content, tried every platform, and still, nothing. Absolutely zero traction from these digital natives, this entire internet generation is just ignoring us. What are we missing? Why is our messaging just completely failing to land with this demographic?

Answered 4 hours agoThe common pitfall when targeting Gen Z is mistaking "trendy" for "authentic." This demographic, often referred to as digital natives, has an extremely refined bullshit detector. They've grown up with the internet and can spot inauthentic marketing efforts from a mile away. Content that feels forced or like you're trying too hard to be "cool" will almost always fail to land. Instead, focus on building genuine connections and providing real value.
Your strategy needs to pivot from chasing micro-trends to understanding their core values: authenticity, transparency, and social impact. This often means less polished, more raw content, user-generated content initiatives, and fostering a sense of community building around your brand. Engage with them, listen to what they create, and consider collaborative efforts rather than just broadcasting. Effective authenticity marketing means letting your brand's true personality shine through, even if it's not perfectly polished, and engaging in two-way conversations that resonate with their lived experiences.
