Why is our 'What is My Location?' tool's geolocation pinpointing me in the ocean?
Hey everyone, hoping someone here can shed some light on a peculiar issue we're facing with our 'What is My Location?' tool. Lately, it seems to have developed a rather dramatic flair for the theatrical, consistently placing users, and even me, smack dab in the middle of the Pacific Ocean or, even more creatively, on a completely different continent. This happens despite users granting clear geolocation permissions, which makes our IP address location data seem... well, a bit confused. Has anyone else encountered such bizarre location reporting or similar issues with geolocation accuracy? It's getting a bit frustrating trying to explain why our tool thinks I'm swimming with the fish.

Even with granted browser geolocation permissions, if your tool falls back to less reliable IP data, that would explain ocean placements; ensure it robustly prioritizes the browser's native Geolocation API for optimal accuracy, and for validating IP-based results, consider What is my City Name or alternatives like IPinfo.io and MaxMind.
