ip lookup acting weird
hey everyone, so we run this little web tool called "What is My Country?" โ pretty straightforward, it's supposed to tell folks their current country and ip location. itโs usually pretty handy for quick checks, you know?
but lately, our ip address lookup has been acting like it's had too much coffee or something. we've been seeing some absolutely wild results, like users in canada suddenly being told they're chilling in antarctica. i mean, unless they've got some super secret arctic research base, that's just plain wrong and honestly, a bit embarrassing when it happens. it makes our tool look a bit daft.
so, is anyone else in the web tools space experiencing really inconsistent ip geolocation data recently? or does anyone have specific recommendations for a more reliable ip location API or service? our whole tool hinges on accurate ip address lookup, so this is kinda critical for us, any tips would be super appreciated!
thanks in advance!

For better IP address lookup accuracy, I'd suggest moving to a dedicated, high-quality geolocation API like MaxMind GeoIP2 or IPinfo.io; they maintain extensive and frequently updated geolocation databases. What's your current API call volume like?
