IronSource Mediation: Ad Monetization Glitch?

Hey everyone,

Just launched my app recently and was super stoked to finally dive into the world of ad monetization with ironSource. After all the development grind, seeing some revenue trickle in would be a dream, right? Well, instead, I'm being met with some utterly baffling issues that are making me question if my code is possessed or if ironSource just likes to play hard to get.

The main problem is that ads โ€“ specifically rewarded video โ€“ are failing to load consistently. Or, even worse, they're almost exclusively filling from one ad network, completely ignoring the others I've carefully placed in the mediation stack. This isn't just a sporadic hiccup; it's happening even in geos with theoretically high demand. This is absolutely killing our potential fill rate and, frankly, our motivation to keep pouring caffeine into this project.

I've gone through the usual troubleshooting dance, practically memorizing their documentation:

  • Double-checked my ironSource SDK integration against their docs โ€“ multiple times, with a magnifying glass.
  • Verified all ad unit IDs and app keys are correct. I even had a friend read them out loud while I typed, just to be sure.
  • Confirmed all ad networks in the waterfall/bidding stack are properly configured both in the ironSource dashboard and their respective platforms (credentials, callbacks, the whole nine yards).
  • Tested on multiple devices and OS versions โ€“ Android, iOS, old phones, new phones, even my grandma's tablet.
  • Cleared app cache and reinstalled more times than I care to admit.
  • Scoured ironSource's reporting, but it just shows low fill rates without a clear 'why.' It's like a doctor saying 'you're sick' without telling you what's wrong.

Hereโ€™s a snippet of what I usually see in the logs when an ad decides to play hide-and-seek:

I/IronSource: RewardedVideo ad failed to load. Error: No Ads to Show (1055)
I/IronSource: RewardedVideo ad failed to load. Error: No fill (509) for instance 'AdNetworkX_RV'
E/IronSource: Adapter 'AdNetworkY' failed to load ad with error: No fill available.

So, dear gurus of ad monetization, I'm at my wit's end. Are there any known quirks or common, non-obvious misconfigurations in ironSource mediation setups that lead to such imbalanced or low fill rates? Any advanced debugging techniques beyond the standard SDK logs that might reveal the true culprit? Could a specific ad network adapter be silently failing or misreporting availability, making ironSource think there's nothing to show? What are the best practices for optimizing the waterfall/bidding strategy to ensure better overall ad monetization and network balance?
